Michael Rosenfeld

Michael Rosenfeld was born and raised in Oceanside, New York, and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1984 with a degree in art history. In 1989, after working as a private dealer for several years, he founded Michael Rosenfeld Gallery on West 57th Street to champion a wide range of American artists who made indispensable contributions to the movements of surrealism, social realism, magical realism, modernism, abstract expressionism, figurative expressionism, and geometric abstraction.

A leading expert on American art, Rosenfeld serves as an advisor to numerous private collectors and has developed strong relationships with a wide range of museums, providing expertise in the areas of research, acquisitions, and loans. He has been instrumental in shaping the collections of leading public institutions across the United States and internationally.
